Jordan Foley

Jordan Foley is a powerhouse singer-songwriter based in Orlando, FL. His music is best described by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay as “a special brand of Americana for admirers of bands like American Aquarium, Lucero and Ryan Bingham.”

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jordan turns heads with his growling vocals and heavy strumming hand. He’s been in Orlando since 2005 and started a budding music career playing at bars all over the Central Florida area in 2013.

Jordan’s been writing music since middle school, but he always held his songs close to his chest. That is, until he met Beth McKee and was given an opportunity to sing his songs at a local songwriter series she hosted. From that moment on, Jordan’s main focus was to dedicate himself to the craft of being a singer-songwriter.

After a tough breakup and a change of employment in 2016 that left him heartbroken and starting a new chapter, Jordan took to the guitar with a pen and a journal to get through the pain. He ended up writing See You Letter, Give to Get a Day, and Because Memories, just to name a few. In April 2018, Jordan released his debut album, Give to Get a Day, on all music streaming platforms. Give to Get a Day is a seven-track album of folk songs with consistent accompaniment throughout from local standout violinist Tanner Johnson and a backing band. During the pandemic in 2020, Jordan also released two acoustic singles, Sing Me a Love Song and The Thought of You and Me, that he recorded while live-streaming at TSM Studio in Longwood, FL.

Jordan has been nominated for Orlando Weekly’s Best Singer-songwriter in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2022, as well as Best Folk Act in 2018 and 2019. Orlando Weekly’s Bao Le-Huu describes Jordan as “a sound and voice that’s effectively situated between a little twang and a lot of soul. He doesn’t try too hard because he doesn’t need to. Confident in the pocket and the natural power of his expression, Foley’s probably one of the more finished and articulated young examples to emerge in the local Americana scene lately.”

While Jordan is currently focusing on his band Jordan Foley & The Wheelhouse, he does intend to release more music as a solo artist in the near future. You can catch Jordan playing songs, originals and covers alike, in Florida and beyond both as a solo artist and as a duo with Wheelhouse member Tyler Hood, under the name Foley & Hood.
